The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri raised more than $11,000 during Putting “Fore” The Kids golf tournament presented by McCarthy Toyota and W-K Chevrolet, held at the Sedalia Country Club May 11.
While the proceeds raised will go a long way toward serving the needs of area children, the money makes up less than 1 percent of the Club’s overall budget.
“We would like to give a big thanks to all our sponsors and the teams who participated,” said Communications Coordinator Emily Jarrett. “This was our first year holding a tournament in Sedalia and we were very excited to see such an enthusiastic reaction.”
Winning teams of the four-person scramble were Abe Azan, John Jackson, John Smeltzer and Rod Bankovich in the “A” flight; Rick Pettit, Aric Snyder Jr., Dave Middleton and Brandon Boise in the “B” flight; and Greg Nehring, RJ Lindstrom, Matt Melville and Matt LaCasse in the “C” flight.
“Thank you again to everyone who came out to support the tournament, especially our title sponsors McCarthy Toyota and W-K Chevrolet,” Jarrett said. “I think everyone had a great time out on the links and we’re looking forward to bringing this tournament back next year, bigger and better than ever.”
Proceeds from the event will go to Club operations.
