The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri raised more than $12,000 during its fourth annual Putting “Fore” The Kids Golf Tournament, held Saturday at Triple Creek Golf Course in Cole Camp.

“Team Walt and Big Dave,” Tom Russell, Luke Heisterberg, Leonard Creek and Robbie Campbell shot a 54.

The annual event featured 19 golf teams competing for prizes and bragging rights, all to benefit the Boys & Girls Club, which served more than 2,000 children last year seeing an average of 650 each day.

“We’re so thankful to the sponsors, golfers and volunteers who helped make the tournament such a success,” said Executive Director Gary Beckman. “Golf tournaments and fundraisers like this are a great way to bring together communities and help shine a spotlight on the important work we’re doing at Boys & Girls Club everyday.”

First-place was won by two teams who each shot a 54: “Team Walt and Big Dave,” which included Tom Russell, Luke Heisterberg, Leonard Creek and Robbie Campbell; and a team including Dave Backer, Dennis Brant, Dave Porter and Jim Price. Third place went to Bobbie Hall, Jerry Bell, Bob DeMotte and Jamie Foster, who shot a 57.
