The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri’s 31st annual Evening of Heart & Hope, presented by The W-K Family of Dealerships is going virtual this year, giving even more supporters of the Club a chance to bid on items and donate to a great cause.

“It was a very tough decision for our Board of Directors to make. We were hoping to have an in-person auction this year, but they realized the health and safety of our supporters was more important,” said Executive Director Gary Beckman. “The benefit of a virtual auction, however, is that even more people can bid on items from the comfort of their couch using our easy mobile bidding system.”

More than 50 packages, including 10 premium packages and limited edition Boys & Girls Club member artwork, will be up for bid, beginning February 17. The mobile bidding system makes it easy for users to place and check on bids; they’ll receive a text message if they’ve been outbid and can even set a max bid and let the system place incremental bids for them.

“We have a lot of amazing auction packages this year,” said Communications Director Emily Schmidt. “Our committee always does a wonderful job putting together donations to create new and one-of-a-kind packages, but this year they’ve gone above and beyond.”

Items include signed sports memorabilia, including an authenticated full-size helmet signed by Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, several high-end wallets, family getaways, home décor, and more.

“We hope this will be our only virtual auction and we can get together with our Boys & Girls Club family of supporters soon,” Beckman said. “We are so thankful to everyone who has worked hard to make this auction and success and thankful to our wonderful guests who are always so generous. The money raised goes directly to helping our members on their path to a great future.”
