Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri recently honored two longtime supporters of the Club at the fifth annual Legacy Awards, held October 27. Darren Pannier and Central Bank of Sedalia were both recognized for their lifetime of support and advocacy of the Club and the children it serves.
“The Legacy Awards acts as our Boys & Girls Club hall of fame, honoring an individual and corporate partner each year for their investment in our organization and the children we serve,” said CEO Patrick Stewart. “We were honored to induct Central Bank and Darren Pannier into this year’s ceremony.”
Pannier, who served on the BGC Board of Directors for 15 years including as past president, currently serves on the Board of Trustees and remains active in Club activities and events.
“Darren is truly one of a kind and an incredible advocate for young people,” Stewart said. “His dedication to our mission should be studied and duplicated by others.”
Central Bank has been a supporter of Boys & Girls Club for nearly two decades, including being an early advocate for the Boys & Girls Club PROENERGY Teen Center and through volunteerism at events.
“Central Bank continues to remain a beacon of hope and support to many in our community. Their generosity reaches far and we are especially grateful for the support they give us.’
Capping off the morning was a speech from Boys & Girls Club member and Junior Youth of the Year, Cora Singer, who spoke about her time at the Club and what it means to her.
